This half term, we have been travelling around the country visiting all the grandparents. We started in Newbury and attended The People's Tower Workshop. French artist Olivier Grossetête and his team decided to create a giant castle in Newbury town centre using cardboard boxes only - they've built several other cardboard structures around the globe (http://www.smh.com.au/good-weekend/from-marseille-to-barangaroo-olivier-grossetetes-paper-towns-20151201-glcsau.html). We took the boys to one of the workshops and helped build some of the boxes that they needed to build the tower. The boys initially looked bemused but got into it, especially when some of the structure took shape. On Monday, we travelled to Derby to see our new puppy which will be joining our home later this month. Poor Wilson did not settle in our home, and we have decided to get a new dog. Isla is a Portuguese Water Dog and will be 8 weeks when she comes home. She was just under four weeks in the photo with Noah.
From Derby we travelled to Nanny and Popsy's house. It was a long way! The weather was a bit rubbish but it didn't stop us from doing a few things. On Tuesday we went to an indoor play centre and Wednesday we went to a pottery centre. The boys all chose something to paint and then concentrated hard! Noah chose to make Isla a water bowl, Seth painted a money box and Lockie painted a bowl for his rock collection.
On Thursday it was my birthday and we travelled to grandad and nanny Cooper's in Braintree where the kids loved sitting in granddad's old Panther car. From there we then went on to Kent and saw nanny Shirley and grandad Alvin for some birthday cake. I got sung three variations of Happy Birthday by my gorgeous boys. Then we left the boys in Kent for a few days and had some kid free time alone - bliss!
