On Saturday, Noah had his 9th birthday party. He has been so excited to be having this party as he hasn't had a party since leaving Aberdeen over three years ago. Adam searched the internet and found a few different ideas for him to choose from, and he chose the Sublime Science party. I wasn't sure how many kids we would get, but including my lot, and a friend each for Seth and Lockie, there were 19 in total, which was a good turnout. Only three kids didn't attend from Noah's class who were invited.
On the day, we had Loopy Leah, our scientist host. She was very softly spoken and some of the kids were a bit wild. But between us all, we managed to keep the kids under control (kind of!). Loopy Leah did all of her experiments, and some were a bit naff, but others were extremely cool. Noah and my boys really enjoyed them and some of the other kids were very enthusiastic and seemed to be having fun. Some of these experiments included making their own candies, making slime, making smoke rings, making wind tunnels, making snow and tornado racing!
Alvin and Shirley stayed the night before so Adam and I could go to the BG wrap party, following the Shell takeover, and so they stayed to help with the party the next day. It was nice for the boys to have them there, and Alvin brought out Noah's cake. We did just a cheap cake from Sainsburys so he had some candles to blow out, but didn't cut it up. I got him some personalised cookies to hand out at when his guests left, along with the party bags and some bags of candy. Noah had fun handing all the bags out to everyone at the end.
He got a lovely lot of birthday gifts from his friends, and it is nice to have some different things for the boys to play with - most of the boys things are still on the sea shipment! Thank you to everyone who wished Noah a Happy Birthday. He had a super time!
